While most stained glass windows are installed in a vertical plane, such is not always the case. Many traditional buildings have a grand skylight filled with leaded windows. This residential client asked Nancy to design a decorative window illustrating doves of peace above Jerusalem for the skylight in the front foyer of their home.
In compliance with modern building code, we divided the existing opening into three sections by installing a custom aluminum frame. Each of our three leaded panels was laid atop clear safety glass. Note the glazer’s suction cups in the photos. Safety glass does not detract from the appearance of the stained glass and assures that this horizontal window will never sag.
